College students'mentality about employment is one of the most important factors that prevent them from favorable employments. At present, college students in Hebei is facing an increasing risk of a favorable employment, however, they have begun make preparations from various aspects for a favorable employment. But, the social reality of difficult employment results a bid mental pressure in college students, and so the idea of"first employment, then choosing an occupation and finally establishing a business"has already been accepted more and more by college students. There are some problems in some students'mentality about employment, including extremely high expectation, predominant utilitarianism, strong blindness, weak independence, lack of creativity and so on, and all these problems will cause many bad effects on a favorable employment.A major cause of college students'mentalty about employmen is the"various factors"that from students themselves, society as well as the colleges. Influenced by traditional mentality about employment, many college students consider Party and government organizations and public institution as the only choice. Many college sttdents would rather drift in cities than go to work in villages, grassroots or remote areas. This idea of choosing superior instead of inferior limits the scope of their employment, and so increase the difficulty to be employed. With the deepening of Chinese open and reform and the development of Chinese economy, Utilitarianism and individualism from western bourgeoisie bring a strong shock towards the value system of present college students. Many students begin focus on realize self-value and stress efficacy and tangible benefits, and Utilitarianism becomes more and more serious, and at the same time, collectivism and dedication are negleted. Part of the graduates consider practical benefits more and more and they lack a long plan of the occupation, and at the same time lack a dedication to society. They are eager for departments that can provide comfortable working environment, high salary, good benefits and welfare, and this make the expectaion value of choosing an employment keep a high level. At present , most college students are born after nineteen eighties, and most of them are"only child"who have a strong personality. These college students are lack of the work ethic , tough spirit, team spirit and collectivism which result bad effects in present mentality about employment. Think oneself above business, having no ability to do big business and refusing to deal with trivial things are also the causes of difficult employment now. Traditional employment system has a big influence on the college students'mentality about it. In the process of switching from planned distribution to market-oriented employment system, the college students'mentality cannot change accordingly, which still shows great dependence and lacks the awareness about competition and self-reliance.When they graduate, they cannot help to consider the education cost and the opportunity of employment.These result in a desire for high salary at the beginning.Without unified labour market and employment information system , the employment service system is unsound. There is no suitable monitoring and administrating organization to solve the problems met by the graduates in the process of employment and innovative undertaking, The unsound employment system cannot help the college students to conquer the problems they met and the students have to turn to their family and school expecting more employment information and job opportunities.The out-of-date specialities offered by college are not adaptable to the requirement of social development. Another important reason is that: there is a big difference between the employers'requirement and the education system.What they have learnt are not useful in society. That is a direct reason for hard employment. As the propoganda of employment policy and education cannot meet the students'needs, some students lack the information of exployment policy and shows an ideological arbitrary and capricious behabiour when choosing a career. They have an unilateral knowledge and unrealistic fancies about employment situation. Due to unsound exployment information service and guiding system, it is hard for college students to get available job information and to choose career focusedly in the labour market. Without adequate help in employment, most college students have a conflict and contradict psychology, such as conformity, upward comparison, self-conceit and self-abasement. So it is hard for them to maintain a good attitude and healthy mental state. Besides, owing to the lack of education for innovative undertaking, the college students do not have the idea of creation and innovationas to realize their dream and innovative undertaking by themselves.It is nessscesary to change the unreasonable mentality of students'employment, try to create a good publice opinions environment for employment, to give a positive guide, protective policies, measure maintenance and psychological support to the graduates, to eastablish a long-time employment system to promt it. This policies encouraging and supporting employment should be systematized and regularized. These measures are important soutions for the current employment problem. Under the precondition of well-coordinated planning and the policy which encourging and supporting employment, the related administrations should regularize the social labor system, monitor the protection of interests and establish a good environment for employment. The employers should have a reasonable opinion on talent development, together with a regular and legal employment. Then the legal interests of the college students and the employers will be well protected. The college students should enhance the educational and teaching information and improve the quality themselves according to the need of the market. Also they will make a good plan of development combined with their own interests, their ability, speciality of their majors and the social development. If different solutions could be in practice , employment of the graduates will not be a serious problem influncing the social safety. As well educated talents, it is not a serious problem for them to be employed sucessfully, though the current situation is still rigorous.
