| Taekwondo, originated from folk Wushu in ancient Korea, used to be called Taegen or Hualiangdao. As early as in 688 AD, when the Silla Kingdom unified the Korean, the economy was prosperous and all businesses thrived, the "System of Hwarang" was established. In 935 AD, the armies of Koguryo, who were brave and good at fighting, overthrew the Silla Dynasty and established the Koguryo Dynasty. The fighting capacity of the soldiers came from the daily training and their love of Taekwondo. They often hit the wall or pieces of wood with their fists to temper the ability to attack of their hands. In 1392, the Koguryo Dynasty was replaced by Li Dinasty, and martial arts and Taekwondo did not receive enough attention. However, this activity has never stopped among the people. After Japan invaded Korea in 1910, a colonial government was established, which once banned all cultural activities, including Taekwondo, which disappeared in Korea. Some people, who hated to be neglected, were forced to leave their motherland and made a living in China or Japan, and thusTaekwondo was inherited at the same time. What was more important was that it was combined with Chinese Wushu and Japanese martial arts, which gave birth to a new technique system. In 1966, the first international organization, the International Taekwondo Federation was founded. In May 1973, the World Taekwondo Federation was founded in Seoul. In 1975, the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF as abbreviation) was accepted as a formal member of the International Sports Federation. In 1980 the International Olympic Committee officially recognized the World World Taekwondo Federation .As a modern competitive sport, Taekwondo was included in the performances of the Olympic Games in 1988, 1992 and 1996, and in the Sydney Olympic Games, which was held in 2000, it was listed as the Olympic Games with eight gold medals. Taekwondo has been carried out in our country since 1992, and within a few years'time, our country has won gold medals at the Olympic Games in 2000, 2004 and 2008 respectively ever since the teams were officially formed in provinces and cities, which promoted the rapid development of Taekwondo in our country.Taekwondo developed quickly ever since it was carried out in our province in 1995, which can be found in eighy cities of Jilin Province and Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture. Especially in the past three years, there appeared a booming trend. There were nearly one thousand Taekwondo halls in Jilin Province, hundreds of which were located in Changchun, the capital city. It seems that there was one Taekwondo hall in each block. Although Taekwondo was carried out in Jilin Province as early as in other provinces and cities, its level fell behind others. Through the investigaton of the current situation of Taekwondo sport in Jilin Province, this paper analysed in detail the main factors that constrain the development of Taekwondo sport in Jilin Province, revealed the major problems that appeared during the process of its development in Jilin Province, and tried to find a breakthrough point of the level of Taekwondo sport in Jilin Province.
