On Revelation Of Ye Shengtao's Ideal Of Composition Teaching For Primary School Education

Mr. Ye's dissertations about composition teaching were great achievements by his constant educational practice, and undoubtedly will be enlightening us to advance the reform of our Chinese language teaching in a healthy way."To write a composition is to conduct yourself; composition is a counterpart of your daily life and your daily language."This lays the fundamental ideal of Ye's composition teaching methodology, Ye put emphasis on"absorbing nutrition from the roots of daily life", considering both enhancement of social experiences and fostering one's character as the essence of pursuing honesty and sincerity in writing. Composition teaching in primary schools in China, pupils are encouraged to"speak on good grounds"rather than"speak sincerely". Thus, its educative role is neglected; meanwhile the writer looses his inner self in his own writing. This inclination, has a negative impact on their mental health in their early formative years. Mr.Ye's ideal of composition teaching which may be quite pertinent and practical in improving teaching method of composition in primary schools, hence a higher quality of teaching.Therefore, in connection with current situation of composition teaching in primary schools, this article makes an attempt to explore the revelation and practical application of Ye's theory by probing into the core of his ideal of composition teaching.
