Lao Tzu is not only the founder of Taoism but also a famous thinker and philosopher in Chinese history. His masterpiece The Moral has a great influence on Chinese civilization. People regard him mainly as a philosopher and almost ignore his achievement in education thinking. Actually his philosophy connotation can be applied in education field with many of his education ideas still being guidable today.Referring to related literature, this thesis researches Lao Tzu's education theory by means of induction and conclusion. By induction, classification from the conclusion and comparative analysis from various angles, it comes to the conclusion that Lao Tzu's education theory is beneficial.The thesis is divided into 6 parts: part 1 introduces Lao Tzu's education theory; part 2 analyzes Lao Tzu's education theory and foundation stone"road","nature"and"inaction"; part 3 elaborates Lao Tzu's education means, education requirement, moral education view etc; part 4 explores Lao Tzu's education practice activities; part 5 draws a comparison between Lao Tzu and Confusion's education purpose, education objects, contents, methods and teacher's moral view; and the last part is the influence and evaluation of Lao Tzu's education theory.As the source of China's traditional social education and Taoism education, Lao Tzu's education theory has great significance on China's modern education.
