The training target of higher vocational and technical education determines the emphasis of practical link, requiring more attention on cultivating the capability of technical application. Practical curriculum is very important for its predominant position in the whole curriculum system, which presents an essential characteristic to differentiate from academic-oriented and engineering-oriented higher education. The success of practical curriculum directly affects the talent training of higher vocational and technical education. So it is necessary to study the practical curriculum evaluation of higher vocational and technical education. By an effective way of evaluation, we could Play its role in orientation, intendance and incentive, make more efforts to emphasize the status of practical curriculum, deepen the reform of curriculum, improve the level of management, try to explore a high technology applied talents training mode in accordance with Chinese conditions representing specific features.According to the analysis of the research results in this field, this thesis has briefly summarized the research status, problems, developing trends of practical curriculum evaluation of higher vocational and technical education. It has defined the related concepts, summarized the theoretical basis and the main advantages and disadvantages of evaluation models. Then it has analyzed the elements of practical curriculum evaluation of higher vocational and technical education from four aspects, separated the whole process into four stages, and pointed out the tasks of each stage. It has also given a suggestion of how to construct an index system of it. Finally, on the basis of theoretical research, this thesis has selected the majors of civil construction to do the empirical study. It has tried to construct an index system of practical curriculum evaluation for civil construction majors of higher vocational and technical education with the adoption of qualitative analysis and quantitative processing.
