Nowadays, sports and economy have become more and more close, especially in development countries. Sport industry in China is developing, thus research on the value clain and profit model of sport industry is of great significance.According to the pervious research, this paper conducted a research on value chain of sport industry and established the profit model based on the value chain of sport industry. The main achievements are shown as follows:(1) Two value chains of sport industry are established. They are value chain of sport industry centred on competition and value chain of sport industry centred on fitness. The value chain of sport industry centred on competition is connected by three taches: before the competition, competition and after the competition. The companys involved before and after the competition are Upstream and downstream of leading industry of sport industry. Upstream companys are construction firms, competition project firms, comeptition design firms, comeptition propaganda firms, sport training bodies and sport club. Leading companys includes competition project firms, advertisement firms, athletic equipment firms, sponsors, medias. Downstream companys involves sport tour firms, sport netgames development firms, sport brand promotion firms and sport remembrance firms. The value chain of sport industry centred on fitness contains athletic equipment manufacture firms, construction firms, propaganda firms and medias, fitness clubs, Membership system design firms, brokerage firms, training firms.(2) Two profit models are establishes based on above two value chains of sport industry. They are profit model based on the value chain centred on competition and profit model based on the value chain centred on fitness. In the profit model centred on competition, profit model of sport competition firm and profit model of brokerage firm are studied, and the value chain and profit model of NBA is analyzed as a case study. In the profit model centred on fitness, the profit model of fitness club is analyzed, and the profit model of Csi-Bally Total Fitness is given to explan this profit model as a case.(3) Taking the Outdoor Sports as a case, this paper designs the profit model of Outdoor Sports club based on the theory of value chain and profit model of sport industry concluded in the previous sections. This case desgin can be the witness of scientificity and maneuverability of the value chain and profit model of sport industry which are put forward in this paper.The innovative points of this dissertation are the establishment of the two value chains respective based on competition and finess, the establishment of two kinds of profit models respective based on the two value chain, and the case study on Outdoor Sports.
