On Primary School Pupils "Automatic Reading"

B.S Blum,American famaous contemporary educator,mentioned that:in order to improve students' intellect and ability,they should be in the stage of automatic reading.According to Blum,automatic reading means free and fluent reading,which is a key to the success of a student's study.It's also an important process for a pupil to abtain knowledge and improve his or her lingual ability.It focus on a large amount of reading and a general comprehention of literature works,not on the progress of words and sentences,not even on the endless research and analysis.However,in the present Chinese teaching of primary education,automaticreading is not focused,but blocked the form of the whole process and containstudents'ability to learn Chinese and even the improvement of their intellect.Thisessay tries to use the theory of education and psychology to analyze therelationship of automatic reading and Chinese teaching in primaryeducation,and study how to help students to form automatic reading.This essayincluds four parts.The first part mentions the background of automatic readingand its relationship with Chinese teaching in primary school.The second partfocus on the present situation of automatic reading,which is ignored in Chineseteaching,especially Chinese reading teaching of primary education.The thirdpart,explains in detail from the research of open-shelfed teaching how to helpstudents form the habit of automatic reading in Chinese teaching of primaryeducation. The forth part analyzes the role of teachers in the formation processof automatic reading. From automatic reading and based on Chinese readingteaching in primary school,this essay tries to attach importance to automaticreading in Chinese teaching of primary education.From the two-way teachingand learning between teachers and students,it tries to find students' protentialability of automatic study and help students to form the attitude of whole-lifereading.
