Education means a kind of social behavior that educationalist through art makes the educantee has a holistic understanding of art and the ability of create. Art appreciation class is one of the compulsory curriculum in high school, which plays the educational function of school education from a special point of view - the visual point of view that is different from other subjects. It influences their emotional temperament, cultures their artistic sensibility understanding through a vivid manifestation. It can be said that art education in improving the overall quality of students has a unique contribution. Now all types of schools at all levels take more and more attention to art education. However, in the high school it emerges some phenomenons, for example ignoring the art education, re-light the cultural skills" and so on. The reason is that they are affected by the college entrance examination and the interest of reality. In the high school, the teaching methods and practical effect of art appreciation class have yet to be explored to resolve. In this paper, takes a example of teaching "Van Gogh impression", from which explore initially the teaching of art appreciation class.This paper is divided into three chapters. In the first chapter, the author from the requirements of art appreciation class, analysis the status of art appreciation class in different regions and then emphasizes the key to education of art is teacher. The second chapter disscuss the example of "impressed by Van Gogh," and the process of teaching ,then explores in detail the display of the entire teaching process of art appreciation class. And point out the characteristics of the appreciation of Teaching: diversification, diversification, as well as emphasis on teacher-student interaction Co-operation. The implementation of after-school programs received good results. The third chapter is summary of second chapter, explained the principles and methods that used in the teaching by techaers, and innovation which teachers should have in the process of class. So it provides an excellent fact and basis of theory for the future art appreciate class.
