Arts appreciation is an important part in art teaching of the junior middle school. This article has probed into the problems and reformation scheme of junior high school teaching of arts appreciation in both theory and practice.This article consists of four sections: Section 1 is theoretic research of teaching of arts appreciation. This section begins with research of teaching development history of arts appreciation. Teaching of arts appreciation in modern school has a short history no matter in the world or in China, however it has gone through a long way from an extensive sense. From existing literature of our country, research of arts education history is not much, and research subject concerning teaching history of arts appreciation is even more limited. Actually, research of education development history of arts appreciation cannot only present the development course of art appreciation education but also help people have a deeper understanding of arts appreciation education. And then this part also provides an initial analysis of current arts appreciation education in our country. Since the end of the 20~th Century, research of arts appreciation and relevant education has been gradually enhanced, and remarkable achievements have been made, which is of great help for further development of this subject in future research. Section 2 is about investigation and analysis of present situation of junior high school education of arts appreciation. In this section, the author has adopted the general method of questionnaire and interview for investigation of the practical situation of arts education of junior high school, aiming to provide appropriate suggestions and strategies for arts appreciation education through understanding of the practical situation. Section 3 presents the teaching goals, strategies and methods of arts appreciation of junior high school. Section 4 consists of four examples of arts appreciation education of junior high school. All in all, theoretical research will set foundation for practice, and practical research will instruct theoretical research in a sense. This research expects to play a role of improvement and promotion in arts appreciation education of junior high school through theoretical and practical research.
