With the rapid development of scientific technologies, mathematics also keeps changing and developing along with the new discoveries of experiments and applications. The combination of mathematics and modern computer technologies in particular establishes unparalleled close links between mathematics and natural science, social science as well as mental science. The mathematics accomplishment has become important component of citizens'cultural attainments in new era. The information times even require more, so our mathematics teachings have to face all students to give them more mathematics knowledge, which could be widely applied and closely linked with other science and real world.Under such circumstances, the reform of mathematics course in junior middle schools emerges as the times require, in which the reform of textbooks goes first. This paper chooses to compare two different mathematics textbooks of junior middle schools to review the relative mathematics course reform.The paper begins with the three great reforms of mathematics course in the world to expound the historic necessity of China's mathematics textbooks reform in junior middle schools. The meaning of this study lies in the process from studying the textbooks'structure to comparing different textbooks of both foreign countries and China.After the deep studies of the mathematics course standard and other countries'mathematics course reforms, the paper concludes that the mathematics course reform in China's junior middle schools should follow the standard in theory. On the base of the above-mentioned studies, the paper compares structures and characters of two different junior middle school mathematics textbooks, especially the three parts of textbooks, including introduction, function and probability, which change greatly and reflect best the new times of textbooks reform.By the comparison of textbooks, this paper hopes to put forward both new requirements for the mathematics teachers in junior middle schools and suggestions for compilation and amendment of the new textbooks in the future.
