Ministry of Education issued The General High School IT Curriculum Standard for the first time in April, 2003. From then on, a diversity of IT Teaching Material based on the standard had come into being. But only the five editions of senior IT textbooks issued by Educational Science Publishing House, ZheJiang Education Publishing House, GuangDong Education Publishing House, ShangHai Scientific & Technological Education Publishing House, and China's map Press passed in the first checkup in 2004, and were put into trail use. The senior IT curriculum includes two parts: one is compulsory, the other is elective. The compulsory part, that is "the IT foundation" module, is linked up to compulsory education, is the foundation of senior IT curriculum, and is the premise of studying each elective module, too. Whereas it's so important and time is limited, the five editions of IT foundation textbooks are used as the main objects in the thesis.The main study points are: What is the similarity and difference between the five IT foundation textbooks, and what is the effect in the five years' implementation. The thesis consists of six parts:Chapter one: A statement of the topic, background, development, way of research, the meaning, and some points about the five editions of IT textbooks.Chapter two: Comparison of the contents; this chapter comprises how the textbooks accord with the standard, and how the points are presented.Chapter three: Comparison of the frames of the textbooks.Chapter four: Comparison of the five presenting-modes; includes how the five textbooks deal with the formats in printing's design, pictures and columns.Chapter five: Comparison of the effect of the implementation and how the teachers and the students evaluate the textbooks by evaluating questionnaires.In the end, the thesis gives some conclusions and suggestions.
