Curriculum and textbooks is the core of school education, and the reform of the textbooks is the key to education reform. This thesis is expected to put forward some useful suggestions to better the standards and textbooks from the view of a physics teacher in a senior high school through some basic research on overall tendency about the reforming of curriculum standards from China and the USA by analyzing, comparing and investigating. The thesis also points out some defects in the physics textbooks of the two countries by comparing the layout of the teaching contents, column designing and overall characteristics based on their curriculum standards of the two countries .Finally, the author also brings out some principles about selecting textbooks for senior high schools such as principles in applicability and development, intended to provide some enlightenment and help to the physics textbook compiling and application.
