There are great educational potentialities in the research on sexual differences. Recently, the research on it has been springing up and it is attached much attention to in the field of education.With questionnaire and live examples of English teaching and learning, this thesis analyzes the differences between the male and the female in intellectual factors and non-intellectual factors. Then, with these reasons, different root causes are explored from various angles, including physiology, psychology, school education, family and society environment. Finally, from the point of view of educators, based on gender difference and the analyses of its main factors, many constructive and specific suggestions and teaching methods are put forward. The whole process including the set of the topic, the analyses of differences, the trace of the causes and the corresponding measures are closely related to the teaching and learning of English. Not only does it highlight the traits and characteristics of males and females in learning English but also it once more proves education as well as teaching methods plays an essential role in the whole process.
