Community is one of the most important parts of society, which is also the area where social problems happen and thus it plays a more and more important role in economic, political, cultural and social development. At present the government is attaching great importance to constructing harmonious society, which must be based on constructing harmonious community because it is the basis of harmonious society. The CPC and the central government have imposed and will continue to impose higher requirements on the community working group to strengthen community construction under the new circumstances. Community worker is the key person to construct harmonious society that ties the government and community residents together.Committed community workers who are the main forces to promote community development make a significant influence on the quality of community construction. Highly committed community workers love their job from the bottom of their heart, are in line with community culture and values and connect their personal development goals with community development goals and thus devote themselves into community development. Vise versa, lowly committed community workers are disengaged in work, not interested in work and have no sense of responsibility. Therefore, it is of significance to cultivate community workers'commitment.The paper firstly collected the theories related to employee engagement, reviewed the references and relevant theories in detail and introduced the concept of community worker, its features as well as the differences between community workers and social workers. Secondly, the structured interviews were carried out with the community workers in the target communities and the structured questionnaire was concocted, which presented a basis for investigating the employee commitment the Chongqing urban community workers. Thirdly, the paper sorted out and analyzed the questionnaires, adopted item analysis & T-test, the Main Component Factor Analysis Method, Independent Sample T-test, reliability test and validity test of scales, descriptive statistic method. The employee commitment of urban community workers in Chongqing was presented based on the individual sample feature and the main influencing factors on commitment were analyzed. Furthermore, the paper presented the following conclusions. 1. The definition of community worker's commitment existed. 2. The overall employee commitment of community workers in Chongqing was at middle level. 3. Employee commitment of community workers in Chongqing varied based on different personal features. 4. The level of eight influencing factors on employee commitment of community workers in Chongqing was different. Finally the counter-measures were correspondingly presented to improve the employee commitment of urban community workers in Chongqing.
