The 17th national congress of the Chinese Communist Party holds high the "great banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics", and it proposes a strategic task of strengthening and improving ideological and political work from the strategic level of promoting the development of socialist cultural prosperity and winning new victories in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects. Contemporary college students are the builders and successors of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Their level of ideological and political quality directly relates to the success or failure of our party and the cause of socialism. Therefore, it is of great and far-reaching strategic significance that strengthening and improving the ideological and political education and management of college students, guiding students to foster a correct outlook on the world, outlook on life and values, and to implement the Scientific Outlook on Development, building a socialist harmonious society and building a moderately prosperous society in all respects.this paper, based on the spirits of The 17th national congress of the Chinese Communist Party and "on the further strengthening and improving ideological and political education of college students views" issued by State Council and the spirits of the meeting-National Strengthen and Improve Ideological and Political Education held in 2005, on the basis of investigation and research, analyses and study the contemporary college students ideological and political situation carefully. For the thinking and behavior characteristics of college students and college students lagging behind the management of the situation, this paper puts forward ideas and measures to improve. First, we should improve the education and management responsibilities and the normative acts. Second is to enhance education and management of the specific content. Third, we should expand the diversity of education and management. The fourth is to build a harmonious the education and management mechanism. Fifth is to strengthen college students' management incentive mechanism. The last, we should regulatory students' self-management mechanism.
