English classroom is regarded as the main stage for Chinese students to learn English and improve their communicative competence. Under the guidance of the task-based language teaching, it is essential for students and teachers to perform the interaction teaching by means of the use of the language materials. This project fully manifests the implementation of English Curriculum Reform, satisfies the needs of English teaching and is significant to the professional development of teachers and the change of students' study methods. Based on the Language Acquisition Theory, the Social Constructivist Theory and the Social Interaction Theory, the paper discusses the task-based classroom interaction and its application in New Senior English reading texts.Firstly, the paper introduces the present condition of the research into the task-based classroom interaction teaching, analyses the concept and classification of the task-based classroom interaction.Secondly, the paper elaborates the theoretical basis of the research: the Language Acquisition Theory, the Social Constructivist Theory and the Social Interaction Theory, and educes the research enlightenment, which provides the theoretical guidance for the application of the task-based language teaching.Thirdly, the paper investigates the practice of utilization of the task-based interaction by inquiry and classroom observation, and thereby discusses the operational principles, practical strategies and a series of classroom activities.Finally, two classes with 112 students of senior two in Chumen High School, Yuhuan, Zhejiang are wholly sampled for about fifteen- week text teaching. The pre-test and post-test are statistically analysed by using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS 10.0).In the meantime, a chosen case of a reading passage is analysed and two individual cases are discussed. Therefore, the paper draws the research conclusion that the task-based classroom interaction is of great benefit to the cultivation of students' active attitudes, the development of students' cooperation and problem-solving ability, students' study methods and students' overall English level as well as teachers' professional development.
