The teacher-student interaction refers to all kinds of interaction and interactive influence between teachers and students. The teacher-student interaction in the classroom means the dynamic progress of the interactive exchange, talk, action and influence between teachers and students in classroom. At present, the Course and Teaching Reform of Basic Education advocates setting up positive, suitable, harmonious teacher-student interaction in teaching, in order to promote teachers and students to grow up together. As one of major subject in basic education, English, should carry out effective teacher-student interaction in English classroom. Effective teacher-student interaction not only helps teachers to finish the classroom instruction efficiently, but also helps students to absorb English knowledge and improve the student's ability to use English. So the study on teacher-student interaction in classroom of the middle school has more practical significance.In this paper, firstly, the theoretical background of teacher-student interaction research is looked back; secondly, focusing on the English classroom- teaching of a junior high school, the status of teacher student interaction is described and analyzed by classroom observation and interview; finally, based on the former, some effective strategies of teacher- student interaction are explored.The paper consists of five parts. Part I, explained the cause and significance of the issue selection. Parts II, introduced methods and structure of the article. Parts III, documents survey, defined interaction and teacher-student interaction's concepts, and classified teacher-student interaction, summed up to foreign and Chinese research on teacher-student interaction and comprehensively commented the foreign and Chinese research. Parts IV, observation on the spot to teacher-student interaction in a junior English classroom, through listening to the classes and interview of the teachers and students, analyzed the statue of teacher-student interaction in the course of classroom-teaching, discussed the current problems of teacher- student interaction in junior English classroom. Parts V, discussed the strategies of promoting the effective teacher-students interaction in junior English classroom.
