English is a tool of communication in learning advanced science and technology,is playing an important role in modem international society.As a main component of studying English,English classroom educational activity is becoming particularly important.As a result,in recent years,effective classroom teaching is of great concern to many researchers and educators.Therefore,the flexible application of effective teaching in different levels of English classes has gradually become a hotspot in the field of pedagogical researches.However,in the daily teaching,there are still some shortcomings,such as more time wasted,less effective results.With the progress of New Course Reform becoming deeper,the New Course Reform gives the challenges and opportunities to English teaching in primary,junior and senior schools.New Curriculum Standard wants the educational system to change traditional teaching and teaching situation in class and calls for students' initiative learning,but the traditional teaching form can't go along with the new situation.So,how to design reasonable and valid English instructional activity is becoming the most important thing.Accompanied by the ongoing practices of innovation,the educational theories have drawn much attention from teachers and researchers.More and more creative ideas have been proposed,including the teacher-student interaction method.Teacher-student interaction activity may be defined as a teaching scheme which encourages students to actively participate in teaching and learning activities or to express his/her own ideas in English,to improve understanding on the English language and culture.Therefore,various teaching methods such as:listening,speaking,singing,role-play are utilized in the process of teacher-student interaction activity.Teacher-student interaction activity can help to achieve the objective of the course English that has been specified by the ‘'New Regulation of English Course” to allow students to access the English language from various channel and styles.In order to get a clear understanding on the current situation of the implementation of English classroom activities such as teacher-student interaction activity in senior one,the writer did some investigations in Number 3 Senior High School in Yi Ning City,Xin Jiang on this subject.Firstly,the writer did some class observations in order to find out the kinds of class activities teachers like to carry out and their ways to implement the activities.Secondly,the writer issued questionnaires for the students to find out their opinions about classroom activities.In addition,the writer did some interviews for the teachers.By using the face-to-face communicative way,the writer further realized the teachers views on implementing classroom activities and the existing problems.There are two research questions for this survey:1.What is the current situation of teacher-student interaction at senior one?2.What do the teachers and students at senior one think of the teacher-student interaction?By means of classroom observations and questionnaire as well as interview for the teachers,the writer drew a main conclusion that teacher-student interaction activity in senior one is a creative and effective way to reach an ideal goal in English teaching.The great advantage of teacher-student interaction activity is to be able to help the students to become active learners.On the whole,the result shows that some teachers and relatively more students have not recognized the importance of teacher-student interaction activity very much yet.According to the findings,the writer suggests: the educational institutes should encourage teachers to break with examination—oriented teaching design and should provide more professional training for teachers.Teachers should try their best to make the teacher-student interaction activity effective.
