Evolution And Reconstruction Of Local Relationship: A Study On The Urban New Immigrants' New Social Relations

"The immigration"is one of hot topics in the contemporary academic studies.In a sense, the urban new immigration is a new field of the domestic immigration research.Sociological study on immigration is mostly stems from the research on peasant laborers, particularly for the emergence of the second generation of peasant laborers who had the foundation to settle down in the city and hope to integrate into the city life.The definition of the new immigration of this article is not limited to labor immigration,but take both the intelligence and investment immigration as the object of study,through the investigation and the discussion of the city new immigration's basic condition,social support condition,social interaction condition and so on, and attempts to reveal how the urban new immigrants set up their new social relations net as well as the influence to their city life.According to "the ideal type" of model,this article divides social relations into the relationship which is based on the"essencial wiil"and the relationship which is based on "the choice will",and take Hang zhou as the dividing line,social relations can be divided into local social relation and new social relation; from the category of support ,social relations also can be divided into instrumental support relation and psychological and emtional support relation. Based on the analys of Hangzhou's questionnaire and interview data,this article start from Hangzhou new immigrants'basic living condition,made an in-depth investigation and discussion of thier social relations condition as well as their immigration behavior.The paper had found the evolution path of the new immigrants' local relation innitially. Generally speaking, the new immigrants' social relations network is diffcult to surmount the blood and relatives boundary,whether before or in Hangzhou,they are looking for help from them,and through build a virtual relationship to get social support.However,part of the city new immigrants are gradually go out of the blood relationship, saying that"at home by parents, to go out on a friend".After came to the city,the new immigrants based on the local social relations to expand thier new social relations and has formed an instrumental rationality pattern. Meanwhile,some immigrants are not attach great importance to social relations,they do not want to owe a debt of gratitude,and gradually strengthening their personal actions on their own straggle in the cities.Based on the analysis and the discussion,the article believes that rich social relations net can bring enough social support to the new urban immigrants.First of all,the richer social relations they have,the more likely they will go out for work,and the quality of employment is relatively high,the main role here is the old social relations net which is based on the local social relations. Secondly,because of coming to Hangzhou,thier original social relations net emerges to a fracture to certain extent.so the new urban immigrants have to build up thier new social relations net in order to get better develope when they came to city. The reconstruction of the new social relations are not "re-break" to the original but on the basis of blood and relative to expand their new social relations net.Finally the two kind of social relations play the different role in the new urban immigrants'city adaptation,the old social relations are mainly provide the new immigrants with an emotional support while the new social relations are provide new immigrants with an instrumental support.
