The primary English course has carried out for a long time in rural areas of our country.The condition of rural teachers is relatively weak,and most primary English teachers teach English after transfer training for a period of time.The survey indicates that primary English course in rural areas is mostly taught by part-time teachers who teach other subjects.Then,what is the teaching effect of part-time English teachers? What is the English study situation of primary school students? These questions are worth reflecting and studying.Meanwhile,these questions can better reflect the implementation effect of new curriculum in rural areas of our country.Then,how to judge teacher's teaching effect? Many studies indicate that teaching skills is an important professional quality to measure teaching effect.Based on this,what is the current situation of the teaching skills of part-time English teachers in rural primary school? How to better carry out primary English course? All of these above questions will be explored in this paper.The author decides to choose Qi county of Henan province as the fieldwork survey target to study deeply.The survey research methods of questionnaire,interview and classroom observing are mainly taken in this thesis to deeply analyze and discuss the teaching skills of primary part-time English teachers.In addition,the research also attempts to use comparative methods to make a comparison of the teaching skills of part-time teachers and full-time teachers.This aims to stress the present situation of the teaching skills of part-time teachers.Based on the analysis of the teaching skills situation of primary part-time English teachers in Qi county,the thesis makes the conclusions and suggestions as follows.Firstly,the teaching skills of primary part-time English teachers are universally bad,especially the professional teaching skills as well as the skills of teaching and researching have bigger degrees lack.In order to improve the primary English teaching quality,the teaching skills of part-time English teachers must trained effectively.Secondly,the incumbent training of primary English teachers should insist on the permanence and effectiveness.The training and teaching practice should be better connected,and formalism should be avoided.Thirdly,the primary English textbooks should be suitable for the local conditions,and should make a good connection with the study features and life habits of students. Fourthly,the staff of relative educational departments should change education notion and emphasize the implementation of primary English course.Besides,enough teaching time and basic teaching resources should be guaranteed.Fifthly,the exchange and cooperation of primary English teachers in the same area should be promoted,and the connection platform of teachers' teaching and researching should be actively established.This is good for teachers' professional development and progress.Sixthly,in order to promote the successful carrying out of the new curriculum reform,the management and training of primary English teachers should be strengthened,and the curriculum perspective and teaching conception as well as self-education of teachers should be improved.The thesis studies the teaching condition of rural primary English from the teaching skills of part-time teachers which is a tiny point of view.Concretely speaking,the thesis has an academic significance in enriching the research on teaching skills of primary part-time English teachers in rural areas.Furthermore,the practical significance of the research has some certain guiding and reference meaning for how to better carry out primary English course in Qi county and other rural areas.
