Gymnastics teaching is an important component of school sports, and it develops the students' body and mind effectively. Simultaneously, it is also an important way to carry on the moral and the all-around educations. The textbooks of gymnastics hold quite a great proportion in the curriculum of "Sports And Health" for middle school students. Therefore, to a certain extent, the practice of gymnastics teaching materials reflects the completion of sports plan and the overall teaching quality. However, today, gymnastics teaching in middle schools have not been taken seriously for a long time, specially, in recent years, the conditions of gymnastics teaching were anxious. There are nearly no gymnastics exercises and the teachers have lost confidence to gymnastics teaching. Also the students do not have the interest to gymnastics exercises. It is far from the request of "foster with the custom to participate in gymnastics exercises positively" in the curriculum of "Sports And Health". It not only hinders the wider development of gymnastics in the middle schools, but also affects the students' physique enhancement.New "Sports And Healthy Curriculum Standard" proposed four new teaching ideas, that is, healthy, interest, independent and individual and a new teaching mentality. No matter in teaching guiding principle, target system, structure system, nor in teaching hour's stipulation, the appraisal system has a deep transformation from the instruction of the former sports program. Faced with the new education idea, the new environment, the new request, in this article, we use the literature material methods, questionnaire survey methods, mathematical statistics methods, expert interview and so on. And we study the gymnastics teaching's present situations and influencing factors in 23 provincial ordinary demonstration high schools in six cities, that is, Jiaozuo, Anyang, Hebi, Puyang, Xinxiang, Jiyuan in Northern Henan Province. Based on the investigation and analysis, we get the reasons to the restriction of the gymnastics' development, point out some existent questions, and put forward the suggestions for improving the gymnastics teaching's present situations and development with the purpose of promoting the development of gymnastics teaching in the middle schools in Henan Province.Survey results:1. Many schools are not according to the sports teaching materials and the teaching plan in the national promulgation's sports program to arrange teaching. The content of the course is stereotypical, and it is seriously simple and old. It also lacks the emerging gymnastics project and the suitable teaching materials to develop young people's body and mind. Thus it is unable to make the students be interested in gymnastics. For seriously insufficient teaching hours, more skill teaching with less instrument teaching involving, some schools even abandon gymnastics teaching.2. The universal existence of related leaders taking seriously insufficiently, there are not enough gymnastics funds and equipment. And the insufficience of gymnastics teaching location and the instrument facilities can not guard and meet the teaching's need.3. The study and the request to gymnastics in "Sports And Healthy Curriculum Standard" are not to be explicit, which causes the teachers' cognition deviation as well as the injure accident to be many in gymnastics teaching process. The partial opinion of school leaders and the teachers to the teaching idea have hindered gymnastics teaching's development.4. The teachers' teaching methods are obsolete, and lack the innovation. There exists disparity with the request of modern education reform and the demand of students. The appraisal system is imperfect, and the teachers' teaching enthusiasm is not high.5. Teachers' title structure, specialized structure and the male and female teachers' proportion structure are not reasonable. It is easy to see that there are many teachers' titles by middle school second-level and middle school first-level, while the senior teachers, the specialized gymnastics teachers and the female teachers are too few. Also the male and female teacher proportion is not reasonable.6. The insufficient understanding and participation degree between the teachers and the students to the new curriculum standard cause a lag in their idea and behavior.The opinion and suggestion:1. Enlarge the funds invested in the improvement of gymnastics teaching's condition.2. Strengthen gymnastics teachers' level and raise the gymnastics teaching's vocational level. 3. The school gymnastics teaching should be made the corresponding adjustment according to the times.4. Develop the forms for gymnastics competition activities as many as possible.5. Strengthen teachers' pre-service training, into vocational education and in-service training.6. Use each propaganda method fully, enhance both the teacher and student's comprehension to the new curriculum standard and enhance their enthusiasm to participate in the sports. |
