This paper mainly probes into the shaping of roles of middle and primary school teachers in Tibetan area.Taking Tibetan culture as researching angle,and new roles of middle and primary school teachers in Tibetan area as the logic starting-point,based on Tibetan culture's uniqueness and the unique basic education produced by this culture,under the background of new curriculum reform, comprehensively applying the multi-cultural theory and ethnic educational theory with the nature of multi-national and unified Chinese nation,with the method of literature analysis,on the basis of previous study results,this article attempts to explore the brand new teacher roles which are geared to the epochal characteristics and ethnic traits of Tibetan basic education.This paper consists of introduction,main body and conclusion:The introduction exposits the origin of this study,literature review and design.The main body comprises four parts:the first part discusses that the development of Tibetan basic education expects new teacher roles.In modern society of 21st century,in order to adapt to the development of teacher professionalization,reform of teacher education and the needs of teaching practice,middle and primary school teachers in Tibetan area should play new roles.They are supposed to become teachers who learn all their lives;who research and reflect;who promote and cooperate;who create school-based curriculums;who serve the education and inherit and pass down the Tibetan traditional culture;who safeguard national unification;the second part reviews and scrutinizes the disadvantages of the traditional Tibetan teacher roles,and then analyzes in detail the causes of these disadvantages;the third part explains the content of shaping new teacher roles, including the system of teachers' ideas,the system of teachers' abilities and the system of teachers' thoughts;the fourth part proposes the approaches to realize the shaping of new teacher roles.Based on two dimensions-inner dimension and outer dimension,these approaches include the renewal of teacher education ideas,the perfection of teachers' structures of intelligence and skills,Tibetan teachers-self-shaping of the"cultural individual"image;rebirth of Tibetan culture;the construction of harmonious campus culture and developmental evaluation system for Tibetan teachers.These approaches aim at helping Tibetan teachers understand the new roles,and guiding them to play the new roles in their practice.The conclusion summarizes the whole paper,meanwhile,points out the limitation of this study and the direction of the subsequent study.
