Teacher leadership is a necessity in the development of the teaching profession, and it is also a hot issue concerned by west education community in recent years. It is worthy of discussion on how achieve the upgrading of teacher leadership in the context of China's education so as to promote the professional development of teachers better, so does how to promote the upgrading of teacher leadership through the implementation of the framework of teacher professional development. On the basis of research on the literature, this thesis conducts a comprehensive study on teacher leadership and the upgrading of it through the use of literature, case analysis and interview.Teacher leadership is actually a kind of influence of teacher in the group activities of school. That is, teacher leadership means teacher forms a comprehensive influence to "being a leader" (other members in activities) in certain activities through the interaction of their own professional authority, as well as the non-power factors (such as teacher's own knowledge, ability, emotion, etc.).It has characteristics of non-executive, comprehensive, dynamic, and plasticity, etc. Teacher leadership is an important method to fully explore teacher's potential resources, to maximize the improvement of teacher enthusiasm, initiativity and creativity so as to enhance the quality of education and teaching. Therefore upgrading of teacher leadership is inevitable and necessary way of professional development of teacher.Because teacher leadership is a non-administrative leadership, and it is mainly gotten through different learning methord of teacher. Therefore, upgrading teacher leadership must adhere to the principle of empowerment, the principle of knowledge integration, the principle of independent innovation, the principle of cooperation in sharing and the principle of step-by-step. And it is because the process of teacher learning is the process of upgrading teacher leadership, we can divide the way of upgrading teacher leadership into teacher-leading education, teacher's companion guiding and teacher self-study according to different learning styles of teacher.Upgrading of teacher leadership makes the professional development of teacher to be possible. At the same time, the independent professional development of teacher provides a implementation of the framework for the upgrading of teacher leadership. The main specific strategies of upgrading of teacher leadership from the aspect of independent professional development of teacher are the strategy of important appointment, the strategy of clinical supervision, the strategy of thematic cooperation, the strategy of leader's narrative as well as the strategy of action Research.To sum up, upgrading of teacher leadership is the requirement of professional development of teacher. It is an inherent way of Teacher Education. It fits for the needs of teacher's learning and development. So, this theme is of great research value and significance.
