A Study On The Crisis And Countermeasure Of Student Resource Of Adult Education In Colleges And Universities

In the process of achieving the modernization of economy and education in our country, adult education in colleges and universities is becoming more and more important, playing an increasingly important role. It is an essentially important component of "walking on two legs" for China to develop higher education. However, in recent years, as a result of rapid expansion in the enrollment of regular higher education; the rapid development of higher vocational education, the emergence of private education and modern distance education; some independent adult colleges scramble students by all the ways; In addition, there are many problems in adult education of colleges and universities themselves indeed, resulting in decreasing the number of their students, and beginning to face difficulties in recruiting students. Analyzing correctly the main reasons of the current crisis of student resource in the adult education of colleges and universities in our country, and it is urgent for us to supply some feasible suggestions.This paper is divided into four major sections.The first part expresses the important meaning of developing adult education of colleges and universities in our country at this stage. Pointed out that adult education in colleges and universities is China's inevitable requirement to speed up the urbanization process, and also is the key factor to improve the enterprise's core competitiveness and sustainable innovation capability, the urgent requirement for the development of a knowledge-based economy and industrial restructuring, necessary to build a lifelong education system, also a growing need for colleges and universities themselves.The second part analyses the situation of adult education students, since China resumes the entrance examination of Universities. Can be found through the analysis: From 1978 to restore China's official entrance to 1990, the whole higher education in China is still at the stage of elite education, so students in colleges and universities for adult education are very adequate; from 1990 to 2002, although the twists and turns, however, the overall students number were still on the rise; in 2004, the students each year have fallen sharply, and enrolling students of adult education college is becoming difficult.The third part analyses detailed the main reasons of the current crisis of student resource in the adult education of colleges and universities in our country. Pointed out: the education concept falls behind, the quality of education lows, and disorder of students recruitment, in the face of the new situation, not transfer in time as well as the competition intensifies, are the main reasons of the current crisis of student resource in adult education of colleges and universities in our country.Facing to the main reason of the current crisis of student resource in the adult education of colleges and universities in our country, the last part tries to put forward some ideas to enlarge the student number. As to it, author believes that under the new situation in China ,we develop the adult education college students should begin the following aspects: change our concepts, keep the development on the times, try to develop adult education colleges and universities; re-direct the direction of developing college adult education; expanse the school space, more service-oriented; improve the quality of education so as to exchange for the community credibility and student resource's acceptance; respect for the interests of students, standardize admissions publicity; and call on the Government to legislate for adult education.In this paper, adhere to the scientific development concept, focus on theoretical research and practical study of the combination of the guiding ideology, implement the macro-and micro-research study of thinking.
