With the coming of information era, personal learning ability has become a vital skill for living. As a new branch of cognitive learning theory, the theory of autonomous learning has increasingly become the popular learning theory in the western. The autonomous learning theory gives a novel explanation on education and learning and provides us with a new viewpoint on education. The theory holds point that the students complete meaning construction through activities and exchanging viewpoints under circumstances provided by teachers.Based on the autonomous learning theories home and abroad, we make investigations on the definition of autonomous learning and the physics education. Considering the special background of education in our nation, we make further investigation on cultivating student's autonomous learning ability. The main points of this thesis are arranged as follows:1. Investigations on the definition and characterizations of autonomous learning. We make further investigations on popular autonomous learning models. Considering our new curriculum standard, we analyze the characterizations and difficulties of physics education in middle school.2. Based on the basis autonomous learning theories, we make investigations on how to cultivate autonomous learning abilities for students during educational course. Considering the background of the physics education in our nation, especially the physics education under the new curriculum standard, we make field experiment on education based on autonomous learning model. Based on the autonomous learning theories, we analyze the physics book and compose plains for cultivating students'autonomous learning ability. According to the feedback information, we improve the teaching plan.3. According to physics experiment, we analyze the characterizations of experimental education of physics in middle schools. And we clarify the status of teachers in cultivating and improving the autonomous learning ability of the student. According to our teaching experiences, we primarily analyze the weakness of current experimental education. Based on the basis theory of autonomous learning, we propose applicable teaching methods. We design an interface of Pre-work System for Yong's Double-slit Interference base on MATLAB and release it to students. The feedback information from students demonstrates that our interface can improve the autonomous learning ability of the student in some degree.
