The mass culture is the cultural mainstream of present time, it infiltrates into every aspect of the social life. The mass culture takes the school moral education's cultural context, as well as the important moral education content, its impact on schools and moral education can not be ignored.This article mainly includes three parts:The first part introduces the mass culture's starting and the main features. The mass culture develop gradually in the condition of populace's present, present information technological means'development as well as market mechanism and so on.The mass culture has experienced four periods with the elite culture: the seed-development time, the development- resistance time, the acceleration -inflation time, the fusion-exchange time. The mass culture have characteristics such as non-ideological nature, adaptation, commercialization, perception, openness, secular and so on. It is precisely because of the mass culture's these characteristics that enabl the mass culture to have the unique development superiority, also cause it to be under the contradictory development with the elite culture.Part two is mainly to introduce the mass culture's challenges to school moral education. This part's analysis is mainly from two aspects: one is carrying out analysis on school moral education itself, mass culture has challenges on aspects such as school moral education's idea, target, content, means, concrete moral education practice, moral education evaluation; perform specificly for the following aspects: the relativism values are dispelling the moral education, the mass culture's secular is deconstructing the transcendental of moral education, the mass culture digests the contents of moral education which have eternal significance, the mass culture favors the perception method, the electronic media is attacking the school moral education method. The other one cuts into from student's moral development, challenges mainly include the student moral values choice's incapable, the students'moral beliefs desalinating, the students'moral thoughts westernization, the way of moral consciousness construction changing and so on. The third part is discussing the school moral education how to deal with the impact of mass culture.This part proposes the following strategies in view of the mass culture's challenges to school moral education. The school moral education should strengthen the self-criticism consciousness, should adhere to the students as the main body, should strengthen contact with the social life.
