The mental health of college students now increasingly brings social attention and physical exercises plays a positive role in relieving their pressure as well as promoting the mental health.Aiming on providing theoretical and practical supports to collegiate students' mental health/hygiene and physical education,present study summarized the differences of stressors and coping style of PE and non-PE undergraduates by the method of investigation.Meanwhile,the mechanism of physical exercise to positive coping style was also discussed,in order to provide information and suggestions to decision-makers and PE teachers.This study consists of two parts,including researches on stressor and coping style of collegiate students.And,method of questionnaire investigation was conducted mainly used the Stressor Scale and Coping Style Scale of collegiate students.Conclusions are as follows:1.Among the six dimensions of the stressors of collegiate students,the family dimension is regarded as the most important one.2.The stress level of collegiate student was generally not high,male was lower than their female peers.Also PE students' stress level was lower than that of non-PE students.3.Students' coping styles were generally positive,and the males' were more negative than females'.Furthermore,PE major students were more positive than non-PE students in terms of coping style.4.Non-PE students who had regularly taken part in physical activities were more positive in coping style than those who didn't and seldom.
