Analysis On The University S&T Park Environment Of China Based On Diamond System

Michael Porter made the famous Diamond System for signing four key elements to nurture industries competitive advantages in the national competitive advantage theory. The current University S&T Park environment of China has been analyzed by applying Porter's Diamond System in this paper.The national competitive advantage theory has been summarized at the beginning of this paper, four key elements and two complementary elements of Diamond System has been introduced, and the significance of analyzing the current University S&T Park environment of China by applying Porter's Diamond System has been elaborated. Diamond System for the University S&T Park has been re-explained. The current University S&T Park environment of China has been analyzed in term of the factors of production, demand conditions, related industries, the park strategy, the government and opportunity by applying Porter's Diamond System. A conclusion has been reached that University S&T Park has initially formed the objective foundation of the environmental advantages.In this paper, A case study on the laser industry in the University S&T Park of the East - Lake High-Tech - New– Zone has been done on the basis of thorough investigation by applying"Diamond System" model. The advantages and problems of the laser industry in the University S&T Park of the East - Lake High-Tech - New– Zone has also been discussed and some suggestions have been pointed out that we should further update low-level factors of production, cultivate high-level factors of production, enhance the consumers'demand of laser industry, optimize the laser industry cluster; strengthen government regulation and control, and optimize the park strategy ,in order to speed up the development of the laser industry in the University S&T Park of the East - Lake High-Tech - New– Zone.
