Stepping into the new century,China's eighth basic education curriculum reform in the CPC central committee and the state council,is under the direct leadership of the strength is unprecedented in the country,and its rapid trend that caught worldwide attention.The reform began in 1999 and has gone through 10 years.The basic P.E. education curriculum reform guided by the"physical education and health curriculum standards"(Referred to as New Curriculum in following),clearly defines the sports and health courses in the nature,value,the basic conceptual framework,curriculum target,learning objectives in the field,breaking the teaching-and-practice frame of traditional physical education from the thought level,highlights the"health first"guiding ideology,the comprehensive development of students as the center,cultivate students' consciousness of lifelong sport.Since the implementation of New Curriculum Standard,there have been some jubilant changes in the P.E.course.However,some confusion also spears in the process of New Curriculum Standard implementation,and,more problems expose as the reform gets further.In order to solve the problem readily,promote the new physical education curriculum reform deepening,school physical education workers need a more in-depth and detailed study.This paper attempting a comprehensive understanding about the status of Physical Education since the implementation of New Curriculum in secondary schools of Shanwei City,summing up the achievements and shortcomings according to a survey of P.E. teachers in key secondary school of Shanwei City district,counties,towns and focusing on the context of the full implementation of New Curriculum Standard in secondary schools in all aspects of Physical Education to conduct in-depth,detailed analysis by suing Literature,Questionnaire,Interview,Mathematical statistics,Comparative Analysis, Teaching observation.Basing it,excavating the cause and explore ways to solve the problems from the deeper level,to provide theoretical reference and practical basis for the smooth implementation of the New Curriculum Standard.According to the survey and analysis,the preliminary study conclusions could be arrived at as following:Conclusions one:the majority of P.E.teachers of key secondary school in Shanwei are young adults,they are more adapt to accept and carry out the new curriculum,but also and vulnerable to be mislead and deviate from new curriculum.Their education background is in line with the requirements of secondary school physical education. Because the overall level of scientific research of physical education teachers is comparative low;they still belong to the experience-oriented group.Poor school Research atmosphere results in the poor awareness of physical education teachers in scientific research,which is for their transformation into"research-based"teachers who are more adapting to the requirements of New Curriculum Standard.It will be a bottleneck which constraints the physical education curriculum reform from going into the depth.Conclusions two:Physical education facilities are lack in vary level of key secondary school in Shanwei,Site constructions,equipments are extremely uneven with school-level and scale.A certain extent also exists between schools.Backward in teaching facilities management in some schools leads to equipment damage,idle and loss. Physical education facilities in schools can not meet the teaching needs,the urgent need for further improvements.Conclusions three:the concept of New Curriculum Standard has been accepted by the first-line P.E.teachers in secondary school,their teaching concept has been a fundamental shift.Physical education teachers can be proactive in practice the New Curriculum Standard.It can be said that the transformation of awareness of physical education teachers have been basically achieved.However,their awareness and understanding of New Curriculum still need to be deepened.Conclusions four:Treatment of physical education teachers in key secondary schools is still low and there is an obvious gap with teachers of other subjects.Physical education courses less than the other subjects and often is occupied by other subjects. This shows that the status of physical education arid physical teachers has not changed.It is a key factor in the potential that impact the reform.Conclusions five:The key Secondary schools showing a trends of a wide range of the establishment of objectives in teaching,Physical education teachers pay more attention to emotion,personality and ability of students,have already transformed from the simple pursuit of external skill level of students towards the pursuit of a comprehensive physical and mental development of students.However,the teaching objectives setting is disordered,it is lack of effective integration.Scientific and rational system of teaching objectives hasn't come into being.Conclusions six:teaching organization develops mainly by administrative classes and Class division,reflects the hierarchical teaching of thinking Preliminarily;Teaching content is single,centralized,more grown-up,more competitive,less life-oriented;the using of teaching methods used is backward,conservative,reflects their thinking is still fixed in the"How to Teach",doesn't transit to the"how to learn".Combination of process and the results,qualitative and quantitative,teachers and students is using in the Evaluation of student learning.It is reasonable than that in the past,but isn't be a scientific system.Therefore,the major components of the the teaching practice needs further reform.A variety of active trying have been carried out in physical education content,, teaching methods and evaluation of student learning under the key secondary schools, teaching and learning performance has also been improved.However,a wide variety of inadequate is still exposed in teaching practice,need to be further reformed.Conclusions seven:After the New Curriculum implementation,the dominant position of students have been further reflected in physical education classes.Physical education teachers are working hard to convert their own role.The new physical education relation in which teachers and students interact and cooperate with each other is taking shape.Conclusions eight:The curriculum resource development of the key secondary school is adverse,it is connected with the lagging awareness of the teachers.However, most physical teachers are available to modify the use basing on the school premises and equipment.They Show a certain potential for development and requires further guidance.Conclusions nine:The main difficulty to deepen curriculum reform of key secondary school in Shanwei City is:lacking of leadership support;Lack of teaching behavior guidance;venues and equipments doesn't permit.Basing on the above conclusions put forward the following proposals:Effective measures should be taken to change the old concept of physical education of school leaders;a thorough change of the old concepts in treatment of physical education of school leadership is the premise.To further improve the structure of teacher education,increase efforts to training backbone,and strengthen the guidance of young teachers at the same time.To take more targeted training to improve physical education teachers' awareness of New Curriculum,give adequate guidance in the teaching behavior; to deal with the inadequate of space and equipment positively and flexibly;to encourage strongly physical education teachers to development curriculum resources;to integrate the teaching objectives effectively;to promote the communication of school physical education workers by strengthen research;to make corresponding adjustments in the training of Physical Education Teacher in college.
