Wushu is an excellent traditional national sports item in our country and carrying out Wushu sports in middle schools is significant for realizing national fitness and the construction of harmonious society. The survey and study on the present situation about the teaching of Wushu in Chaoyang District Changchun City show that the present situation about the present situation in middle schools is not that optimistic—in most schools, the faculty are weak, the theoretical teaching materials are old, the teaching mode is out of date, the teaching equipment is short, and there are few competitive activities—the further reform of the teaching of Wushu in middle schools are greatly in need.Taking the teaching and training of Wushu in twenty common middle schools in Chaoyang District Changchun City as the subjects of the study, the thesis deeply explores the problems existing in the teaching of Wushu in these schools, searches for the effective methods to promote Wushu in middle schools through such research methodology as literature review, interview, questionnaire, statistics, logical induction, etc. in order to propose several feasible suggestions and developmental countermeasures for the better development of Wushu in the middle schools in Chaoyan District Changchun City.The results of the research indicate that:1.Despite the diversity of Wushu courses in the middle schools in Chaoyang District Changchun City, there exist such problems as the teaching content is single; the teaching materials are out of date; the teaching hours are not enough; too much attention is paid to technology while the theory is neglected; the teaching methods are underdeveloped; the assessment is not reasonable, which go against the effective carrying out of the educational activities of Wushu in middle schools.2.Students are not very satisfied with the current teaching content of Wushu course in middle schools, and think the teaching attitude of teachers, the organization of teaching and the teaching methods need further improvement.3.The middle schools in Chaoyang District Changchun City are short of hardware facilities as the court and the equipment of Wushu, and the leaders have not paid enough attention to the teaching of Wushu, which hinder the development of Wushu in middle schools.4.At present, the percentage of the faculty of Wushu in middle schools in Chaoyang District Changchun City is small; their educational level is low; their research ability needs to be improved; the distribution of their majors are not reasonable, which go against the further carrying out of Wushu course. However, their age structure is relatively reasonable, which appears as a"pyramid": from large to small.
