With the development of economic construction,improvement of social economic benefits as well as the increased leisure time and changes of lifestyle, fitness clubs gradually come into people's lives, and become a trend and fashion. The continuous emergence of health clubs is showing the unique charm of Sport to meet the multi-level people's demand, and promote the rapid development of economy. Therefore this article, by the understanding of health clubs'status and analysis of the urgent-- solved problem, aims to promote more vigorous and orderly development of commercial fitness clubs in Harbin, providing some reference for expansion of health club in underdeveloped areas.This paper, with many different research methods (such as: the literature, interviews, questionnaire, logical analysis and mathematical statistics), conducts a questionnaire survey on the operators, coaches and consumers of 16 health clubs in Harbin in order to have a deep understanding and analysis of the current implement status there, laying a solid foundation on identification of the actual business problems and the development of practical countermeasures.This study analyzes the research background as well as the current urgency of commercial fitness clubs, and defines the concept of objects. The results show that it is still in its infancy for development of Harbin's commercial health club; operation mode should be innovated for the single injection of funds, limitations of operating scale and location choices; it is lack of features and innovative projects for management projects, although in a diversified, comprehensive way; institutions can only meet the normal operation of the club, failing to form the functions of optimization and complementarities; operators and coaches with a reasonable age structure, and relatively high education, has a certain one-sidedness of knowledge structure; consumers are mainly concentrated in the high--educated, high--income, high-pressure groups, so it has great potential for development of consumer market; and it is lack of an integrated marketing concept, ignoring the long-term strategic planning.This paper presents six development countermeasures: multi—encouragement; fostering development of commercial fitness clubs; improving the internal management of a health club level; accelerating the construction of a high-quality, high-level team of coaches; building the operating characteristics of a health club; enhancing marketing effect of a health club; exerting imaged and geographical advantages of a health club.
