This dissertation compares the study of the two groups of graduate students before and after the graduate student cultivation mechanism reform and deduces the impact of the reform on the study of the students. The concept of study is comprehensive ,the writer chooses three dimensions including learning attitude, motivation and behavior to analyze the study of students. The writer has designed the questionnaire which was administered to the students of East China Normal University. Survey data were analyzed by using a variety of descriptive and inferential statistics. Major findings in this research show: (1) the learning attitude and behavior of the students is good before the reform. (2) the internal learning attitude dispersion coefficient of the students is increasing after the reform. (3) the learning attitude and motivation of the students has been enhanced after the reform .(4) the behavior of the students has no evident change after the reform. (5) the correlation between the learning external motivation and learning results is significant after the reform. Through the deep research, the dissertation found that the criterion of the academic evaluation must be scientific and the orientations of the graduate students need a deep research. With an unproven external validity, the author suggests a cautious application of this research when translated to the general field of college-choice behavior. The survey developed in this research, however, provides the universities with a blueprint for the reform of the graduate students' cultivation reform.
