In the traditional education mode, teachers have acted the fixed roles for many years. They taught as a one-way communicator, owned the authoritative information, and implemented the educational outline faithfully. They are also the supervisor models of ethics. As the development of modern science and technology, the students educated by the traditional way can not be adapted to the social and cultural change, which has spoken volumes for that our education should advance with times. Recent years, we keep making breakthrough in educational technologies because of the development of Networks, communications, computers, multimedia and other technological developments. Many schools have been equipped by the modern educational technologies, especially in some more developed areas. One the contract, we are still lack of the high-quality education soft wares. The modern technology has impacted the traditional roles of teacher. This thesis is just focused on the change of the teacher's roles in modern education system. By the analysis and theoretical study of the literature, the relevant concepts are first introduced. Then, the strength and the weakness of the traditional roles are analyzed, which helps us keep the good ones. Conforming to the development of the times, teachers should act new roles which can meet the new requirements of the modern society. In the new environment, teachers should inherit the fine traditions roles; act as an assistant and a guider in the learning process; research the new challenges and problems in the education practice, and join the cooperative groups. Based on the study of the advanced education theories and the real case, some effective ways by which teachers can change their roles are exposed in this thesis. At last, the survey by the questionnaires validates my viewpoints, and helps me reflect my research results.
