Personality education is one important subject in modern education. To bring into play the role of history teaching in personality education is not only critical to shaping the personalities of junior middle school students who are just in a crucial period in their life, but also of great and far-reaching historical significance in constructing modern Chinese civilization.This thesis, guided by the vision of a new round of history courses reform, carrying forward the fine traditions of our traditional personality education, and using for reference the experience of Western developed countries in personality education, explores the issue of how to bring into play the role of history teaching in personality education that suits the psychological characteristics of junior middle school students and tries to build up the modes for history teaching to play a role in personality education that meet the development requirements of the 21st century.The thesis f is divided into our parts. Part 1 gives the definitions of "personality" and "personality education"; Part 2 studies the necessity and urgency of giving personality education through history teaching at junior middle schools; Part 3 analyzes the advantages of giving personality education through history teaching at junior middle schools; Part 4 discusses the practice and exploration of giving personality education through history teaching at junior middle schools. It is hoped that through exploration into the above issues, this thesis can provide theoretical grounds and practical references for giving personality education through history teaching at junior middle schools.
