Curriculum is the key to improve the quality of higher education, and curriculum idea is the pre-element and theoretical guidance to the construction of high-quality university courses. Our country's modern development of higher education is a difficult process in respect of its development course. Accordingly, the development of our country's university curriculum idea has met many twists and turns and even was in stagnation and retrogression once.At the same time, the curriculum idea in modern university has been influenced in its development by many factors like concept of knowledge, social power, cultural traditions, science development and curriculum rationality. Therefore, it is of great value for the current in-depth reform of university courses and improvement of curriculum quality to clear out the development process of our country's modern university curriculum idea and to identify the key factors that affect it.This paper takes modern china's university curriculum idea as the study focus and reveals its development process in accordance with chronological order and the history and practice of modern china's university curriculum. It reveals in particular the factors that influence the development and practice of modern china's university curriculum idea. This paper consists of four parts. The first part is preface which mainly states the reasons and significance for selecting this topic. The second part mainly studies the development process and characteristics of modern china's university curriculum idea which features in its diversity of curriculum idea with the foreign thought being the main part and in its focus on scientific knowledge and vulnerability to china's political needs. The third part mainly researches the development process and characteristics of current china's university curriculum idea which develops in twists and turns and even in a state of stagnation, and the curriculum idea pays more attention to scientific unification in its early days and democratic pluralism in its later period. The fourth part mainly reveals the key factors that affect the development and practice of modern china's curriculum idea. The development of modern china's curriculum idea is influenced by many factors all together such as: 1) concept of knowledge, social power, cultural traditions, scientific and technological development, curriculum rationality and their selection and organization of cultural knowledge; 2)the value guidance and agreement; 3)the methods, means and evaluation of curriculum organization and implementation; etc...
