With the rapid development of economic society, the interaction between human and natural environment is enhancing continuously, human beings are adapting and reforming the environment, at the same time they are subjecting to the environmental impact continuously. This paper, taking Xinjiang University as an example, understood adapting situation of students in new condition and their perception about their environment through questionnaire survey method, analyzed and studied the adapting problem of students who are from different birth place in Xinjiang University in six different aspects such as: natural environment, campus environment, learning environment, interpersonal relationship, humane environment and stress events.In this paper, firstly, ecological environment assessment theory is applied in the study of students'environmental adaptation problem; this paper made assessment and classification on the birth place of students by utilizing current commonly adopted environmental assessment system, and discussed the relationship between the differences of students'birth place and the differences of students'adaptability in three levels such as: provincial area, six regions and eco-environmental assessment level. In order to understand ecological environment's internal effect on students, as well as the function of this effect in the students'adapting process, and consequently give beneficial reference for university to carry out psychological guidance for students'environmental adaptation and to improve campus environment, moreover this paper made prospective analysis for the further research and study on the problem of human's adaptability to environment. This research filled the blank that application study of the eco-environmental assessment theory on the aspect of university students'psychological health, furthermore this research enriched the theory of ecological study and extended the research field of ecology. This paper, taking Xinjiang University students from different birth place as a research object, applied several theories and methods comprehensively such as: ecology, environmental assessment, sociology, psychology, statistics and so on, mainly acquired the following conclusions:1) Students from different birth place have obvious difference in adapting college environment in aspects such as: natural environment, living environment, humane environment etc.2) Students from different birth place have universality in the difference of environmental adaptation.3) Environmental factor represent comprehensive function for influence of college student's adapting ability.4) College student's adaptation for environment is a dynamic process, it has adjustability.5) Cultivation of college student should consider its ecological environmental background; university should build harmonious campus which is suitable for college student adaptability.
