Since foundation of China, especially from 1980s, it has attached great importance to school principles' training program. However, until "Eighth Five" Period, the training program has achieved a relatively standardized stage, including establishment of its basic guiding ideology, focusing on their quality cultivation, improvement education according to educational rule, being a modern educational administrator. When it comes to "Ninth Five" Period, school principles' training program has undergone an important compensatory educational stage, which is characterized by the role transformation from a teacher to an educational leader. At present, school principles' training program has entered into the stage of Professional Growth. Our educational experiences tell us that, level of principals' professionalization, to some extent, has determined developmental tendency of school, level of teachers' professional development, and future of more than 250,000,000 elementary and secondary students. Therefore, school principles' school principals' professional training program is one of the core preconditions for the well-being of education development in China.Principals' professional training program is one of the main ways for principals' professional development, in which the curriculum setting is of first priority. In this article, based on stage theory of principals' professional development, together with competency based theory and constructivism theory, current situation of curriculum setting for school principals' professional training has been deeply investigated into finding existed problems. Then, a series of suggestions, in terms of goal definition, content selection and organization, anticipated ideas, for the development of curriculum setting for school principals' professional training have proposed.The article are based on six content areas: introduction, theoretical analysis of principals' professional training program, current situation and existed problems of curriculum setting for principals' professional training program, discussion on the goal-setting of curriculum design, construction of curriculum content and anticipated ideas of curriculum setting.Chapterâ… : introduction. This section illustrates reasons for selecting present theme, theoretical and practical significances of project and thoughts and methods applied in the research. In this section, essential connotation of principals' professionalization, principals' professional training program and curriculum setting of professional training program have been given at first. Then, combination of characteristics of principals' professional training program, theoretical foundations, including of principals' professional development theory, competency based theory and constructivism theory, have been discussed.Chapterâ…¢: current situation and existed problems of curriculum setting for principals' professional training program. In this section, from national level and local level (Chongqing as an example), the current situation and existed problems of curriculum setting for principals' professional training program have been investigated.Chapterâ…£: discussion on the goal-setting of curriculum design for principals' professional training program. In this section, from aspects of educational backgrounds, including of social development, quality educational reform and requirements of teacher, student and parent, qualities as a school administrator have been discussed. Moreover, these qualities as guidance to establish goals of curriculum setting of principals' professional training program, which are including knowledge goal, competence goal and attitude goal. Therefore, basic characterizations of curriculum setting of principals' professional training program are of professional requirements as orientation and self-realization as ultimate value goal.Chapterâ…¤: construction of curriculum content. In this section, successful experiences of curriculum setting for principals' professional training program in other nations have been investigated and principles for curriculum setting have been established as practical, pertinence, dynamic and constructive. Furthermore, on the basis of establishment of curriculum-setting goal, curriculum contents have been constructed from dimensions of common course, professional course and ability-extending course. Finally, a series suggestion on flexibility for course arrangement, increasing percentage of problem-researching course, highlighting self-reflection course and stressing on implicit course.Chapterâ…¥: anticipated ideas for curriculum setting. In order to harvest anticipate results, it is highly important to combine theory with practice. In this section, some anticipated ideas for curriculum setting have been discussed, from aspects of renewing concepts of program training, assessment system and anticipating for curriculum practice.
