Comparative Research On Several Questions About The Building Of Chinese And American Collegiate Basketball Team

The American NCAA has experienced more than 100 years of development and successfully established a sound training system which stretches from primary school to high school and finally to college, and nurtured numerous basketball talents for the NBA. The launch of CUBA and CUBS in China has made great contribution to the achievement of Universities Basketball League, many participants has significantly improved their basketball skills as well as their ability. However, there is still a gap compared with the NCAA athletes, especially in terms of the ability to apply the skills and strategies under high intensity in the matches.By applying the approaches including documentation, investigation, mathematic- al statistics, comparison and logical reasoning on the situation of the coaches and participants involving in University basketball league, competition system and the operation of competitions, as well as in comparison with NCAA, this essay draws the conclusions as follows:Firstly,although it has been a relatively short period since CUBA and CUBS came into being, they have reached a certain scale and made a good performance. As a result, they have been the main basketball competitions which are relayed. Nonetheless, it may not be possible to become the mainstream of our basketball talents because of the gap in contrast with NCAA.Secondly,as to the channel for nurturing university high level basketball coaches, a difference still has not been made currently. In order to make university basketball training a base of our basketball professions, efforts should be made to cultivate a team of university basketball coaches with rich practical training experience.Thirdly, those participating university have distinguished requirements in terms of the academic performance of athletes, and it is generally true that with higher scores of sports test, the bottom line of academic scores will be lower. Consequently, athletes mainly focus on professional skill training and ignore academic study to some extent. More attention should be paid on the learning of science and culture. Finally, more funds and publicity should be allocated by the adminstration of education and sports on CUBA and CUBS.Give some empirical and theoretical references to the evolvement of our university basketball.
