Cross-cultural management is an ideology of management.It's also both a specific theory and a style of management.The study on it is based on the cultural differences with aiming to reduce cultural conflicts and realize cultural symbiosis.Applying cross-cultural management theory to student management in overseas Chinese universities,where the students' cultural background is so varied and different,is the key channel to the globalization of overseas Chinese higher education and the internal meaning of it as well,it's an effective way to promote students all-around development and realize educational goals of overseas Chinese universities. Combining cross-cultural management with university education opens a new research space for higher educational management,and offers another perspective for the study on the student management in overseas Chinese universities.This paper discusses the theory of cross-cultural management, summarizes the types and basic features of student culture in overseas Chinese universities,and analyzes the specific embodiment of cultural differences on the dimensions of religion,values,thought,behavior and political tendency.The author investigates the present situation and problems of student management in Overseas Chinese Universities by borrowing the survey results from others and interviewing with students from abroad. Finally the author highlights the countermeasures to be taken from the aspects of idea,system,subject and method of management to improve the crosscultural student management in Overseas Chinese Universities.
