The Empirical Study On College Teacher's Career Success

Career success has long been a construct of considerable interesting to career scholars. Researchers have started the research of career success in the early 1930s.In recent years, career success has been re-emphasis on academics with the rise of positive psychology and the growing attention of mental health.Career success may be defined as the accomplishment of desirable work-related outcomes at any point in a person's work experiences over time.In terms of Individuals,career success means that development of individual potential and self-realization.In this paper,we made a college teacher career success questionnaires on University teachers based on previous research.Then explore the influence of mentor relation on career success,aiming to offer services for college teacher managementThis paper has drawn these conclusions as follows:Firstly,college teacher career success questionnaires has the total of 16 items,including the five dimensions,namely recognition,support of students,quality of life,Achievements and career satisfaction.The questionnaires have good reliability and validity.Secondly,Psychological support had positive effect on recognition,Achievements and career satisfaction.Career support had positive effect on support of students,quality of life and career satisfaction.Both psychological support and career support can predict effectively annual income.Thirdly,the differences had been found in gender,age,marital status and demographic variables.Male,married,older or higher rifles are higher more than the female,single,young or low-level rifles in each dimension of career success.Finally,according to the study,some suggestions were made about how to improve career success.Current limitations and future research orientation was discussed in the end...
