Career success is an important aspect of career research, which is defined in terms of the positive psychological and work-related outcomes accumulated as a result of one's work experiences. Plenty of researches abroad have focused on career success criterias and influencing factors, but due to the restrict of industry,occupation, district and other constraints in career success research, there's less research on career success of college teacher, even scarce at home, in this case,on the basis of a large number of progessional literature research, combined with open-questionaire and interview, Career Success Criteria Questionaire and Career Success Influencing Factor Cognition Questionaire of College Teacher were made, meanwhile, we also took use of self-made Career Plateau Questionaire and modified Career Anchor Questionaire from Schein to study the relationship with career success criteria, the results are following:â‘ Career success criteria includes six factors, they are career satisfaction, professional visibility, research productivity, organization competitiveness, teaching achievement and institutional recognition. Teachers consider career satisfaction as the most important criteria; professional achievements including professional visibility, research productivity and teaching achievement take the second place; and institutional recognition and organization competitiveness factors are given least attention.â‘¡There are significant differences in career success criteria of different sex, age,degree and title teachers; teachers in different career plateau show significant differences in career success criteria; different career anchor teachers are unique in career success criteria.â‘¢Career success influencing factors includes four, they are individual motivation, confidant relation,organization environment and human capital. All in all, what teachers care most is individual motivation, then orgnization environment, the third one is confidant relation, and they care human capital least.â‘£There are significant differences in the cognition of career success influencing factors of different sex and age teachers.
