Research On The Relationship Between Career Calling And Career Success

The concept and research of career calling originated from western religious culture.At present,domestic research on career calling is in its early stage.The number of research is small and it is incomplete.This article breaks through the western religious culture background and study the relationship between career calling and career success of collede counselors and the mediated action of career identity in Chinese culture background,based on the summary and summarization of domestic and foreign literatures.This paper conducts field research on the basis of theoretical review.From the empirical perspective,it is feasible to verify the theory of western career calling in the context of China;Clarify the impact of career calling on the overall and dimensions of career success,and verify the intermediary role of career identity and its dimensions in the relationship between occupational calling and professional success.It provides a personal and organizational career management reference for college counselors and colleges,and puts forward Suggestions for cultivating career calling and achieving career success.This paper divides professional identity into three dimensions:emotional identity,continuous identification and normative identification,and divide career success into two dimensions:objective career success and subjective career success.The research object of this paper is a professional counselor who is specialized in the work of counselors in universities and colleges in Beijing,Jiangsu,Shanghai and Shanxi.In this paper,we selected mature career calling,career identification and career success scale as questionnaire.SPSS was used to analyze the collected data.The study found that career calling has a significant positive influence on career identity and its various dimensions.Career calling has a significant positive effect on career success and its various dimensions;Career identity and its various dimensions have significant positive influence on each dimension of career success;Career identity and its dimensions play a part in the relationship between career calling and career success.According to the above conclusions,this paper makes recommendations from three aspects of individuals,universities and society to help college counselors achieve career success.Finally,the paper analyzes the limitations and shortcomings of this research and puts forward the future research prospect.
