In a rapidly changing and highly uncertern business world, characterized by boundary blurred and protean career model which in turn gave rise to unsecure employment situation. Boundaryless Career construct was proposed by researchers in 20th century as an echo to the boundary blurred and protean career model. From then, many researchers have engaged in the boundaryless career field, and there is still much unknown in this field. Using a sample comprised of 418 employees in mainland China, the present study investigated the relationships between boundaryless career mindset (BCM), career competency (CC), and career success (CS). Specifically, results showed that:① BCM positively correlated with CS and CC, but the relationships mode varied in terms of the specific facets of BCM, CS and CC.② CC had a positive relationship CS, again, the relationships mode varied in terms of the specific facets of CS and CC.③ CC mediated the relationship between BCM and CS. Specifically, CC fully mediated the relationship between organizational mobility preference and objective career success, the relationship between organizational mobility preference and subjective career success, and the boundaryless mindset and objective career success. However, CC partially mediated the relationship between boundaryless mindset and subjective career success.The results of this study extended the existant researches on boundaryless career mindset and ccould offer implications to the career consulting practice. The limitations of this study include cross-section research design, potential common method bias effects, social desiariablity effect, and lack situational variables. Improvements can be made in the future to avoid these limitations.
