Research On The Relationship Between Employee Career Resources, Career Mission And Subjective Career Success

In recent years,with the deepening of people's research on career success,the research on the influencing factors of career success had changed from single to multiple.More researchers hoped to integrate different factors into a framework.In this context,the new concept of career resources as an integrated predictor of career success had been proposed.Based on the measurement of Chinese employees' career resources,this study studied the relationship among employees' career resources,career calling and subjective career success.This research mainly includes two parts:In the first study,338 employees were selected as subjects to revise the Vocational Resources Questionnaire locally.The results show that:(1)The revised Vocational Resources Questionnaire contains 41 items in 13 dimensions,including human capital resources,environmental career resources,motivational career resources and career management behaviors.(2)The internal consistency coefficient of the total questionnaire was 0.977,and the split-half reliability was 0.897.The internal consistency coefficient of each sub-questionnaire was between 0.911 and 0.959,and the split-half reliability was between 0.813 and 0.922.The results of confirmatory factor analysis showed that the model fits well,and the total questionnaire and its dimensions are significantly correlated with the calibration variables.The second study,using 528 employees as subjects,explored the characteristics of employees' career resources,career calling,career satisfaction and career success through questionnaires,and further explored the relationship between career resources,career calling,career satisfaction and career success,and the moderating effect of career calling on career resources,career satisfaction and career success.The results show that:(1)Employees' scores of career resources,career calling,career satisfaction and career success were all above 3 points(medium level),and the four variables had significant differences in marital status,working years and job rank.Urban employees only had significantly higher career satisfaction and career success than rural employees.(2)There were significant correlations between career resources,career calling,career satisfaction and career success.(3)Career resources had a significant positive predictive effect on career satisfaction and career success,and career calling played a negative moderating role in the relationship between career management behaviors and career satisfaction,and it also played a negative moderating role in the relationship between human capital resources,environmental career resources,motivational career resources and career management behaviors and career success.Finally,the following conclusions were drawn:(1)The revised Career Resources Questionnaire had good reliability and validity,and could be used as an effective measurement tool to measure the level of Chinese employees' career resources.(2)Employees' level of career resources and career calling felt the influence of marital status,working years and job levels.Employees' career satisfaction and career success were influenced by marital status,residence,working years and job levels.(3)There were significant correlations between career resources,career calling,career satisfaction and career success.(4)Career resources had a significant positive predictive effect on subject career success,and career calling had a negative effect on the relationship to a certain extent.
