| In recent years, with the development of the market economic system in China, private enterprises are growing in strength. As far as enterprises are concerned, the quality of workers is fundamental to the development of enterprises and the market competition. And physical exercise is one of the important methods to improve the quality of workers. Therefore, the physical activity of the employees in private enterprises is closely related to the construction of enterprise culture, the development of enterprises, and even the whole economic development in China. Meanwhile, the conducting of physical activity for broad worker will make a great contribution to the Chinese public fitness. According to some relevant study in China, it shows that the physical exercise awareness is rather poor for enterprise employees, especially for employees of private enterprises. Obviously it is an urgent thing to strength the study of physical education of the private enterprise employees.Adopting the method of literature study, questionnaire survey and mathematic statistics, this paper makes an investigation into the employee's physical situation of 21 private enterprises in Zhengzhou city by applying the knowledge of Sport Sociology, Sport Management and Sport Psychology and other disciplines. Based on the investigation, the paper draws the following conclusions:1. The employees of private enterprises in Zhengzhou City don't have a good understanding to the "National Fitness Program", which shows that the private enterprises in Zhengzhou and the related Sports Department don't make an adequate propaganda on the national physical laws and regulations.2. The employees of private enterprises in Zhengzhou City have a strong will and a right motivation to take part in the physical exercise, but actually few of them would join. Most of them choose "watching TV and surfing internet" as their preferred leisure activities. And men and women have a different motivation to take exercise. Men are inclined to hobbies and women are inclined to weight-losing and bodybuilding.3. The employees of private enterprises in Zhengzhou City usually take exercise in the park, at the fitness place of the community, beside the road and street, and other free health sites. That is because the Private Enterprises have few sports fields. And they usually take exercise with their friends and colleagues or themselves on holidays rather than take part in the organized activities by the company.4. The employees of private enterprises in Zhengzhou City have a diversified trend to choose physical activities, but they mainly focus on some simple activities, which require relatively low levels of venues and facilities, such as jogging, walking, playing ping-pong, basketball and badminton, and so on.5. The employees of private enterprises in Zhengzhou City have a relatively poor awareness of the physical consumption. And they concentrate on the material consumption rather than labor-service consumption, which is due to their low incomes, their poor physical consumption and their bad consuming environments.6. Lacking time, interests, playgrounds and equipments are the main governing factors for the employees of private enterprises in Zhengzhou City to take part in the physical exercise.Based on the findings and the experts' advice, this paper put forward the following countermeasures: Physical Administration should attach importance to the employees' sport; private enterprises should develop and manage the employees' Sport as a part of the construction of enterprise culture ,and incorporate it into the enterprise development planning through increasing sports funding and strengthening the construction of venues and facilities; the enterprise should set up cooperative relations with the physical colleges, strive to improve the employees' awareness of physical exercise, and create an atmosphere and environment for physical exercise; the government should strengthen the team-building of the social sports instructors.
