A Study On The Present Situation Of Basketball Coaches For Adolescents In Henan Province

Coaches, as the direct organizers and manages of sports training, play an essential role for promoting the development of athletes and improving their athletic skills.High quality coaches are more and more important for developing basketball game. Therefore, investigating the present situation of basketball coaches for adolescents in Henan is of significance in order to make contingent of coaches stable, improve the coaches' abilities, and cultivate excellent coaches with rich experience, advanced training theory and scientific knowledge.Through using the method of literature, investigation, mathematical statistics and logical analysis, this paper makes investigation on current situation of basketball coaches for adolescents in Henan and put forward the suggestion which is favorable to development of basketball coach's team for adolescents in Henan.The results show that: (1) Those who take on basketball training for adolescents in Henan are mainly male. The age distribution of coaches is basically reasonable, and the coach's age distribution in physical training schools is better than that in traditional basketball schools. But the academic level of coaches in physical training schools is lower than that in traditional basketball schools. (2)A great many coaches are lack of experience of leading the basketball teams in high-level matches. Most of them do not have senior professional titles. And their knowledge and capabilities need to be improved. (3)In traditional basketball schools, most coaches graduated from Physical Education colleges and universities, while the coaches in physical training schools are mostly made up of graduates of Physical Education colleges and retired sportsmen as well. (4) The coaches' selecting qualified players is not very scientific. The players' training time and amount can be guaranteed. Many coaches' training plans are not well-organized. Although a large part of instructors have realized the significance of psychological training and intelligent training in the basketball training, they just take unitary measure to resolve it and neglect the monitor and control of players' internal parameters. Rare opportunities to participate in matches and shortage of funds are the main factors to affect the basketball coaches for adolescents in Henan leading the teams in games. (5) Most coaches have realized the importance of scientific research for training, however, their capability of doing scientific research is low in common. (6) The coaches' motivation of teaching and training players is that they are interested in and love basketball and their coaching work, and hope to cultivate basketball reserve forces for the country. (7) The majority of basketball coaches have not recognized the importance of the establishment of the athletes' dossier. A vast majority of coaches persuade and criticize the pupils who disobey discipline of team. (8) In the management of coaches, the result of matches is over emphasized. The coaches are selected mainly by leaders' appointment. The whole coach team is poorly provided. All coaches in physical training schools are full-time coaches, while most coaches in traditional basketball schools are part-time coaches. Compared to physical training schools, less number of coaches in traditional basketball schools accepts the job training in the less time, the level of their training is also low.
