Teenagers Volleyball Coaches Present Situation Investigation And Study Of Henan Province

As the largest province of China in population, Henan province is in the important chain ofthe strategic development of Chinese volleyball. Therefore, it is an urgent issue that how topromote the teenagers’volleyball training and competitions level. As a leader in the training andcompetitions, the coach bears important responsibility, especially for the teenage volleyball coach,whose words and acts will affect the further development of the teenage athletes to a certaindegree. To be a qualified coach, a solid foundation of professional knowledge, a wealth ofpractical experience and advanced concepts of team management are required. So it is necessaryto strengthen the construction of the teenage coaches and raise their vocational level, and finallytheir comprehensive ability can be developed.By adopting the methods of literature review, investigation, mathematics and logical analysis,the researcher conducted a questionnaire survey on the volleyball coaches, who come from themunicipal sports schools and traditional sports item schools in Henan province. By analyzing thecurrent situation of the training and management of these teenage coaches, the author aims tofigure out the factors that affect the training, management and continuous education of the teenagecoaches, and put forward some suggestions for the healthy development of the coaches in future.The result shows that:(1) Among the teenage volleyball coaches takes up a greater portionthan the female ones, so it seems that female coaches are at a disadvantage in this career; the agestructure of the teenage volleyball coaches is basically rational, and because of the athleticexperience, the average age of the coaches from traditional sports item schools is much lower thanthat from the municipal sports schools.(2) In the case of the educational level, coaches from themunicipal sports schools are lower than those from traditional sports item schools, and some oftheir education levels are difficult to be qualified. The coaches from traditional sports item schoolsare short of the athletic experience. And they both have low professional title, and a small portionof them have no professional title.(3) The knowledge structure of the coaches is not compressiveenough, which manifests in their insufficient creative ability, communicative competence andteaching experience.(4) As for the means of employment, the majority of the coaches from the municipal sports schools come to work right after graduation, so their working years are generallyshort, and most of them are short of teaching experience. With the love of their career, they areusually motivated to help train the reserve talents.(5) Some of the coaches don’t select theteaching materials in a scientific way, and their plans for the training are not sound enough. Mostof the teenage coaches don’t pay enough attention to the mental training, intelligent training andsummarizing after class. The common used methods for recovering are sports massage andrelaxation of activities.(6) The selection way of coaches lacks variety, and for the coaches therules of evaluation and punishment are too mean. Due to the singleness in the team constructionof the coaches, just a few coaches have their own assistant coach. Full-time coaches are rare, andnearly all of coaches of the traditional sports item schools are part-time coaches who bear heavytask of teaching.(7) Some of the coaches do not pay enough attention to the building of the profileof athletes and the principles of the team, and the way they deal with the behavior of breaking therule is mature.(8) For the teenage coaches from Henan province, the reason why their scientificresearch level is low is that they have heavy teaching tasks and insufficient research funding. Mostof the coaches admitted that the training curriculum could help with the sports training, but theyhave a low satisfaction with the training curriculum, which has sole financial source.
