Mapping The Subject Distribution And Collaboration Networks Of Natural Science Of Universities In Liaoning Based On SCI

Natural Science started to rise as early as the later half of the 15th century and has made great improvements ever since.Currently,the educational reform of Natural Science of our country has already begun.The Natural Science education,especially the education of mathematics and sciences,is of great significance to the sustainable development of science and technology,economy and society.To promote the reform and development of the education of Natural Science in Liaoning,it is necessary to realize the advantageous disciplines, so as to provide theoretical support to the promotion of the education of Natural Science.On this background,the author uses mapping knowledge domain techniques to delineate the subject distribution of Liaoning's articles published between1999 and 2008 indexed by SCI.The author first makes bibliometric and citation analysis of the data within 1999-2008 period,and then,in order to study the current subject distribution and detect the research fronts of the Natural Science of Liaoning's universities,draws subject co-occurrence maps and collaboration networks based on the data within 2006-2008 period.Main findings are:there are 6 subject clusters in natural science of Liaoning's universities, which are chemistry labeled cluster including pharmacology &pharmacy,environmental sciences,biochemical research methods etc.;physics labeled cluster including computer science,spectroscopy,optics,biophysics etc.;materials science labeled cluster including metallurgy and metallurgical engineering,nano-science and nano-technology etc.;engineering labeled cluster including energy and fuel,electrochemistry,automation and control systems etc.; mathematics labeled cluster including mechanics,thermodynamics,statistics and probability theory etc.;medicine labeled cluster including biochemistry and molecular biology,oncology, neurosciences etc.High-yielding Authors in natural science in Liaoning's universities are Wang J,Wang Y, Zhang Y,Zhang HQ,Liu Y,Li J,Wang L etc.;the research fronts include mbr,ether sulfone ketone,hollow fiber,electron paramagnetic resonance,scf functions,atomic screening constants,equation,nonlinear evolution etc.
