As a major media of children's reading, children's book plays an irreplaceable role in developing the growing up of children. As the children grew older, children of its own choice of children's books have shown a growing trend, so it becomes particularly important to study the tendency of children's choice. Such as, what are they choose? What are the factors that may affect the child's choice? These studies are carried out in Europe and the United States, but the domestic is so far that few others to get involved. In the context of Chinese culture, this article focuses on the characteristics of children's preferences and whether the cover pictures, interesting degrees of book titles, the book's illustrations will affect the children's choices.This study includes two experiments: the experimental one selects 83 of the fifth grade students using a single way of testing to explore the tendency of children's choices, The experimental Second, selects 320 of the fifth grade students to explore the impact of three factors such as, the cover (with or without drawings), the title (with or without interesting), whether text illustrations on children's choice.Our study shows that:1. A variety of different topics has a profound effect on selection of children's books. Subjects are more likely to choose the theme of detective and science of children's books.2. Regardless of with or without the cover picture, the interesting title has a higher evaluation and purchases in children's books3. Regardless of high or low of the title's interesting degrees, the cover with pictures has more evaluation and purchases than the cover without pictures. No picture in the cover, high interesting title had more evaluation than low interesting title.4. Regardless of whether there is any book illustration, the picture cover of children's book has a higher preference of purchase. If the cover without pictures, the children tend to buy the book there are illustrations of children's books.5. When two factors such as, a high interesting title and the cover has no picture are not had together, the illustrations of children's book evaluates higher; but if those two factors are happened or nor happened, the evaluation will not impacted by the factor with or without illustrations.
