China has gotten amazing achievement in the area of competitive sports these 20 years.The success was close associated with the traditional incentive mechanism.But after the establishment of market economy, traditional incentive mechanism no longer works well in new system.A proper incentive mechanism for excellent athletes hence becomes an important target in the competitive sport reforming.This paper is base on incentive theory.The major method includes but not limited to literature material,questionnaire survey,and telephone visit.The content consists of three parts:first,the theory basis; second,the Chinese Rowing Team's present situation of incentive mechanism;third,the advantages and disadvantages of present incentive mechanism.At the end,a sound suggestion will be given.At last,this thesis brought forward some principles and advices for perfecting incentive mechanism on Chinese Rowing Team:Set up sound incentive mechanism on Chinese Rowing Team;Distribute material award and mental award in reason;Manage goal management and competition mechanism to improve training effect in reason.More cultivate team coherence and construct positive team culture atmosphere.Solve indemnificatory problems on athletes retiring.In the end,I give some suggestions to the managers of the Chinese Rowing Team.
